John Keats (1795-1821) was a Romantic English poet; although, he only published fifty-four poems (dying prematurely at age 25), he is one of the most well-known poets in English Literature.

As well as giving up his career in medicine to become a poet, Keats was not even appreciated in his own time.

Fortunately, his popularity has grown significantly since his passing.

Some of his notable poems were Ode to a Nightingale, To Autumn, Ode on a Grecian Urn and On First Looking into Chapman’s Homer.

This is a statue of Romantic poet, John Keats, on Guy's Hospital Campus. It is a bronze statue made by sculptor, Stuart Williamson. It is also a talking statue: you can scan the QR code and listen to its story!
