Highgate Cemetery - West Side

Highgate Cemetery, in North London, is a place of burial where many famous people rest; there are two sides of the cemetery, and both are worth a visit.

On the East side is the tomb of the famous revolutionary, Karl Marx, the grave of the famous author, George Eliot, and the ashes of Douglas Adams, the author of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

Some may find the West side more striking to visit: the Egyptian Avenue and the Circle are certainly fabulous to see.

You can also visit authors such as Beryl Bainbridge, known for her psychological fiction, Stella Gibbons, the writer of Cold Comfort Farm and John Galsworthy, Nobel Prize winner in 1932, Radclyffe Hall, known for her lesbian literature, and the poet Christina Rossetti.

You can visit the cemetery by yourself, or with an expert tour guide; but as usual, it’s best to check the website for dates and times. You can find the link below 👇
