Edgar Allan Poe Bust

Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849) was an American writer, poet and literary critic.


Some of his well-known works include The Raven, The Cask of Amontillado, The Masque of the Red

Death, The Fall of the House of Usher, Metzengerstein and The Gold Bug.


Poe was a pupil at the Manor House School from 1817 to 1820, which stood on this site.


While you are at the site, if you look up you will see a white bust of Poe on the first floor.
